Duties

• Serve as a Supervisory Staff Administrator for an Army Reserve Brigade, Group, or comparable size element.
• Exercise supervision over the daily activities of a full-time staff.
• Formulate plans and programs to insure consistent implementation of the Commander’s objectives.
• Provide advice to the Commander and staff on a variety of programs associated with carrying out the organization’s mission.
• Conduct analysis of programs and activities through the review of reports.
• Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates and set and adjust short term priorities.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing operations and programs for a unit in the areas of personnel and pay management, training, administration, supply, maintenance operations, information management, resource management, recruitment, inspections and investigations, public relations, and/or security; analyzing and providing guidance on directives, policies, or instructions from higher headquarters; maintaining oversight of the overall readiness status of subordinate units; and exercising supervision over the daily activities of a full time staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
