SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health - Waccamaw Center for Mental Health (Georgetown Office) 525 Lafayette St, Georgetown, SC 29440. As the Mental Health Professional I, working under the supervision of the Clinic Director or Clinic Supervisor, you will provide therapeutic services, particularly as a specialist for adults in Georgetown County for Waccamaw Center. In addition, you will provide intake counseling and case management dealing with situations encompassing interpersonal, health and psychosocial factors. Provide crisis diversion services and consultation to individuals and or agencies, hospitals, and WCMH outpatient department. Provide services to all patients of WCMH and Georgetown Clinics.
Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I:• Provide counseling and case management to individuals and families with a focus on chronically mentally illness by utilizing individual, group and family counseling and other approved center services.

Develop treatment plans in coordination with patients, family, and treatment team and assist with treatment scheduling and meetings.

Maintain documentation of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, Local, OMH, WCHM, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and CARF standards.

Assist patients in gaining appropriate services, consult with local agencies, organizations and human services providers.

Provide on-call services as directed by the Clinic Director.

A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Additional Requirements• Ability to provide after-hours emergency services as directed by the Clinic Director.

May require home visits and travel.

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Must be able to meet OMH credentialling requirements.

Experience working with adults, children, adolescents, and their families in a community mental health setting.
Post hire, employees must:• Ability to provide thorough knowledge of the scope and range of services provided in a comprehensive mental health program serving adults, children and families and the unique treatment needs of the special population.
- Ability to integrate and coordinate services with those of other disciplines and to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and representatives of other professional disciplines.
- Must be able to perform case management, crisis intervention, interviewing and assessment skills.
- Participate in on-going in-service training and other educational opportunities in order to maintain and/or acquire necessary skills.
