Full job description

Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Enterprise Architecture & Data Group (EADG). As an IT Specialist (DataMgmt/ENTARCH), GS-2210-14, you will implement and monitor comprehensive data analytics strategies that support mission critical CMS healthcare programs.

Duties

  • Lead complex, high-impact analytical studies using Medicare and Medicaid claims data to inform policy and program decisions.
  • Provide senior-level analytical guidance on program integrity, payment oversight, and regulatory initiatives.
  • Serve as principal advisor to leadership on data-driven healthcare program insights.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver enterprise-level analytical products.
  • Ensure analytical methodologies align with federal governance, privacy, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; AND 4. Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Apply data analysis techniques to Medicare and Medicaid datasets to support program evaluation and decision-making; (2) Lead time-sensitive analysis for program integrity activities to support fraud, waste, or abuse prevention; (3) Analyze federal healthcare data to interpret payment methodologies and utilization patterns: AND (4) Advise on analytical findings to provide recommendations for leadership and stakeholders. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
