Full job description
JOB GOAL: The TVI is to provide direct and/or consultative special education services specific to vision loss. The TVI teacher provides support to students and parents. JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold or be eligible for a minimum of a Level 4- Bachelor's degree and Certification/License required.
- Preferred Orientation and Mobility certification
- Ability to organize own work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to differentiate instruction, integrate technology into the curriculum with tiered interventions, and apply student data for instructional planning.
- Skilled at collaborative decision-making for individual student and staff growth.
- Skilled at working with a diverse group of students with disabilities.
- High integrity, excellent character, and good professional reputation.
- Abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Vision, hearing, and written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
