Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a self-directed Project Manager I to support data management, financial operations, reporting, and day-to-day business operations within the PMO. Despite the Project Manager title, this individual will not manage a portfolio of projects, development teams, project scope, or project budgets. The role is more closely aligned with a junior data or financial analyst, business operations coordinator, or junior chief of staff.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, comfortable working across a wide variety of responsibilities, and able to independently manage recurring deliverables after receiving initial direction. This person must be able to gather context in meetings, identify downstream actions, backward-plan against deadlines, and proactively follow up with stakeholders without requiring step-by-step oversight.

Skills and Requirements

  • Experience supporting business operations, PMO activities, financial operations, data analysis, or portfolio reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, data reconciliation, and comparison of multiple data sets.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to create polished, leadership-ready presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage recurring monthly and quarterly deliverables.
  • Ability to backward-plan from deadlines and determine interim milestones without detailed instruction.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience gathering information from stakeholders and influencing without direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust communication based on the audience.
  • Ability to capture meeting context and independently determine appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Comfortable learning unfamiliar systems and processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a broad and changing mix of analytical, financial, administrative, and operational responsibilities.
  • Experience with financial forecasting, actuals reporting, or portfolio financial management.
  • Exposure to SOW processing, contract administration, or vendor financial management.
  • Experience supporting KPI, workforce, turnover, or project performance reporting.
  • Familiarity with Hyperion, OnePlan, or similar financial and portfolio management systems.
  • Previous experience as a business operations analyst, financial analyst, PMO analyst, project coordinator, or junior project manager.
  • Experience supporting leadership teams in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree or additional postsecondary education is preferred but not required. Relevant experience, initiative, and demonstrated ability will be prioritized.
