Summary
About the Position: Serve as an Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) with the Department of War at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital at Fort Campbell, KY/TN.
Duties
- Manage organizational policies, procedures, and guidance using electronic document management systems and shared information repositories.
- Draft and finalize official correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other written materials in accordance with established requirements.
- Manage databases, spreadsheets, tracking systems, and electronic records to ensure information is accurate, current, and complete.
- Coordinate committee and meeting activities, including scheduling, preparing agendas and supporting materials, and documenting and finalizing meeting minutes.
- Create presentations, briefing materials, and instructional content using PowerPoint and other automated office applications.
- Evaluate administrative requests and supporting information, research routine matters, provide responses, and refer complex issues to appropriate personnel.
- Provide administrative support to staff and leadership, including calendars, time and attendance, records management, and office supply and equipment needs.
Qualifications
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative office duties within a medical facility, assisting with medical records management, and utilizing automated systems for entering data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
