Pay Range: $47,320 - $72,280 annually

A Brief Overview

Accountable for providing efficient and effective guidance and broad supervision of all staff in the Environmental Services department.

What you will do

  • Coordinates and conducts staff on-the-job training and orientation for the department.

  • Assists with the collection and management of records as needed by the Quality Improvement Department, OSHA, MDH guidelines and other regulatory agencies or as may be required by law.

  • Participates in staff assignments as needed to maintain efficiency within the department and of building structure and grounds.

  • Coordinates the scheduling process and maintains appropriate staffing levels to maximize departmental efficiency.

  • Comprehends/interprets policies and procedures and instructs staff appropriately for compliance.

  • Provides input for the development of the annual budget.

  • Maintains competence in order to serve as a resource to the staff.

  • Maintains all equipment for good operating conditions.

  • Assist in implementing the safety program and education of the facility, assuring facility is meeting safety regulatory guidelines.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Essential Qualifications

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. These requirements and those listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent At a minimum, a high school diploma or General Education Degree or a minimum of one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Drivers License - Licensing Board

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Technical Certificate Vocational certificate/degree in building maintenance or a building trade

  • Special Engineer's Boiler License - Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry

  • One to three years of related experience and/or training.
