Job Description

Our entertainment client is seeking an experienced Program Manager to join the Studio Technology Program Management team supporting Motion Picture Technology initiatives. This team partners across technology, production, finance, legal, and creative organizations to deliver critical solutions that enable studio operations, production workflows, and business functions. This role will operate at both the strategic portfolio and program levels, providing visibility into program health, business outcomes, resource alignment, and operational efficiency across multiple technology initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, data-driven decision maker, and experienced leader who can thrive in a fast-paced production environment while balancing accountability and stakeholder partnership. A key component of this role is driving operational excellence through data, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions, helping teams identify risks sooner, streamline manual processes, and improve decision-making across the portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of cross-functional technology programs supporting studio and motion picture technology initiatives.
  • Partner with technology, production, legal, creative, finance, and business stakeholders to ensure successful program delivery and alignment to strategic goals.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on portfolio health, program status, KPIs, risks, dependencies, and business outcomes.
  • Drive program governance, prioritization, planning, and resource management across multiple initiatives and teams.
  • Partner with technical leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Leverage data analytics, dashboards, and AI-enabled tools to improve visibility, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain program management best practices, frameworks, and operational processes.
  • Manage program budgets, forecasting, financial tracking, and ROI analysis.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, stakeholder communication, and executive presentations. Identify program risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.

Skills and Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Program Management, Project Management, Technical Program Management, Product Operations, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years managing complex, cross-functional portfolios involving multiple teams, technologies, and business stakeholders.
  • Proven experience leading programs across technical organizations, including teams such as:
  • Software Engineering
  • Infrastructure Engineering
  • Data Engineering
  • Architecture
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
  • Storage Engineering
  • Audio/Visual Engineering
  • Post-Production Technology
  • Strong expertise in Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing program financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and ROI analysis.
  • Experience leveraging data, analytics, dashboards, and AI technologies to improve operational effectiveness and decision-making.
  • Advanced experience with program management and workflow tools such as Jira, Jira Service Management, Smartsheet, and similar platforms.
  • Experience creating executive reporting, portfolio dashboards, and KPI-driven program insights.
  • Strong understanding of business value measurement and financial concepts used to evaluate technology investments.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment.
  • Experience in media, entertainment, studio technology, production technology, or related industries.
  • Experience managing AI, machine learning, advanced analytics, or data platform initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, Copilot, or similar platforms to automate workflows, improve reporting, or drive operational efficiencies.
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master, Product Manager, or Product Owner.
  • Experience supporting product roadmaps and technology product delivery.
  • Consulting background.
  • Experience in film production, pre-production, post-production, or content creation environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe, or similar certifications.
