Full job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to provide operational support for the FDA enterprise environment consisting of ~3,500 physical and virtual servers. Linux team.

What you will do:

  • Providing operational support to customer on premise and cloud based (AWS and Azure) datacenters

  • Iimage creation, server provisioning, patching, reporting, creating, and maintaining documentation/SOP's

  • Working directly with customers to integrate applications, scripting and automation of tasks, high level problem solving

  • Troubleshooting a wide variety of issues within defined SLAs.

  • The position requires individuals to be self-motivated, outgoing, accountable, energetic members of the team.

Position is 8-5 ET and requires participating in a 24/7 on-call schedule.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years with BS/BA or 9 years with a HS Diploma

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Linux Administrator.

  • Experience with Linux operation systems, Red Hat Satellite/Capsule/ OEL, Foreman, Pacemaker, Cisco hardware builds and provisioning with Kickstart.

  • Experience with Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu, Veritas SF/Infoscale vcs/vxvm/vxfs, Linux build automation/recovery, OpenShift, OCFS2, Ansible Tower, Scaler.

  • Strong understanding of server backup, experience with vulnerability scanning and threat mitigation technologies, Server hardening, OSCAP.

  • Understanding of common security products (Splunk, Lumension/Ivanti, etc.),

  • Familiar with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Management, VMWare VSphere (e.g., ESXi, vCenter) administration and support, Linux Systems Administration, Storage

  • Experience with Net App, Cloud computing instance and service provisioning (e.g., Amazon Web Service, Azure, etc.), Infrastructure as Code experience (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, etc.)

  • Automation skills via scripting (e.g., ksh, bash, yams, Oracle Linux patching automation skills and PowerShell).

  • SolarWinds monitoring experience

  • ServiceNow or other ticketing systems experience

  • Ability to concurrently manage multiple tasks

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified and experience with AWS, Azure, Centrify

  • Knowledge of network technologies, connectivity, protocols, and security.

  • Mature professional, outgoing, highly motivated, self-starter

  • Clear verbal and written communicaton

  • Ability to assist/coach team members

Target Salary Range $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
