Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve Airborne Electronic Hardware (AEH) related certification documents and processes in accordance with applicable regulations and standards

  • Support Product Assurance aspects of Continued Operational Safety (COS) matters by interfacing with the COEs, ISC, ODA, HI Leadership, OEMs and Certification Authorities

  • Provide certification guidance to product groups for regulatory compliance in AEH development areas

  • Perform and/or support AEH audits for regulatory compliance, special conditions and/or contractual obligations

  • Support the deployment of new applicable airworthiness regulations /standards and resolution of systemic certification findings and issues into Honeywell certification process

  • Support efforts in building and maintaining Honeywell's strong relationships with the national and international Certification Authorities, and supports industry working groups and regulatory committees

  • Support Product Assurance Airworthiness & Certification (PAAC) Management Operating System Initiatives

  • Ability to travel <10% of the time

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Aerospace or equivalent discipline

  • 5+ years of experience in ASIC/FGPA HDL design/verification and/or AEH certification liaison experience

  • A US Citizen or permanent resident due to export control and ITAR restrictions

WE VALUE

  • Familiar with FAA regulations; in particular FAA TSO Order 8150.1[ ], 14 CFR 21 subpart O, and industry guidance standards such as DO-254

  • Prior experience as Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or ODA/company certification engineer

  • Prior certification liaison experience developing AEH PHAC/HAS artifacts and direct working relationship showing certification artifacts to the Certification Authorities (FAA, EASA, PECO, etc.)

  • Prior ASIC/FPGA HDL design and/or verification experience

  • Experience with aircraft systems operation and have broad knowledge of avionics products

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teaming, customer interaction and personal leadership abilities, and the ability to handle multiple activities/priorities effectively

  • Demonstrated leadership, action oriented, results driven, have high energy, be a self starter, innovative, influential with peers and customers, and demonstrate critical thinking skills to drive to root cause

  • Able to work with Product Engineers, Program Managers, Customers, Peers, and Certification Authorities striving to build positive working relationships

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

The annual base salary range for this position is $142,000 - $178,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell Aerospace consider various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education, and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
