Full job description

At Lowe's, our Local Delivery Drivers play a critical role in connecting our branch network and ensuring customers receive products when and where they need them. This position combines professional driving expertise, route ownership, and customer service to support efficient product movement across assigned markets. As a Local Delivery Driver, you'll independently manage delivery routes, coordinate with branch leadership, and make real-time decisions that keep deliveries on schedule. You'll serve as a trusted representative of Lowe's, building relationships with customers and partnering with sales and operations teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a company delivery vehicle while adhering to all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Execute line haul deliveries between branches and customer locations within assigned markets.
  • Independently manage delivery routes and make time-sensitive decisions to optimize delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload merchandise while ensuring order accuracy and product integrity.
  • Coordinate daily delivery schedules with branch leadership and communicate proactively regarding delays, route changes, or customer concerns.
  • Utilize handheld technology and delivery systems to document deliveries, obtain customer confirmations, and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Build strong customer relationships through professional interactions and responsive service.
  • Partner with sales and operations teams to resolve customer concerns and support business growth opportunities.
  • Support warehouse operations and inventory-related activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED General Studies or technical graduate or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 1+ years of experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) between 14,500 and 26,000 pounds.
  • Ability to meet all applicable DOT requirements and maintain required medical certification.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 40 pounds, with team - lift support available for heavier items.
  • Strong commitment to safely. customer service, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including, including overtime when business needs require.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently resolve delivery challenges while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid state issued drivers license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing customer- facing delivery services and building professional customer relationships.
  • Previous route delivery, final - mile delivery, or customer facing delivery experience.
  • Experience operating forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Retail, logistics, or warehouse experience.
  • Experience using handheld mobile technology and delivery management systems.
