Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse include assisting the professional nurse in the planning, directing and supervising of resident care, providing direct nursing care to residents and to supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and orderlies within the Methodist Senior Services. Such care and supervision will be in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations and as outlined in established policies and procedures at Methodist Senior Services, to maximize fulfilling the care-giving needs of residents. The person(s) holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

At least six months experience working in a hospital, long term care facility, or other health care institution, with training or experience implementing total patient care and care planning, and in making sound nursing judgments; will have taken courses in nursing management or supervision and in rehabilitative and restorative nursing; hold membership in professional association(s).

Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 19 years of age. LPN degree from an accredited nursing program, college or university.
