Emerging Threats Analyst

Responsibilities

Peraton seeks an Emerging Threats Analyst to support DAMO-Strategic Operations/Cyber Operations Support as a senior cyber analyst. In this role, you will address policy initiatives and represent DAMO stakeholders regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based threats to the Army's networks and systems.

Work Location: Pentagon and Taylor Building (Arlington)

Tasks include:

• Assist the development of policy regarding the implementation Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solutions to enhance cyber operations.

• Provide expert analysis and recommendations to support the development of effective countermeasures and mitigation strategies.

• Analyze and assess emerging (AI)-based threats to the Army's networks and systems.

• Conduct research on AI-based threats, including reviewing serialized intelligence reports, publicly available information (PAI), open-source intelligence (OSINT), and other relevant sources.

• Conduct research for a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the Army's use and implementation of AI-enabled functions/abilities/use, to include understand weaknesses, risks, and vulnerabilities.

• Collaborate with Army intelligence analysts, and other stakeholders to gather and share AI-based usage, implementation, unintended outcomes, and other related effects.

• Develop and present reports, briefings, and other products to inform DAMO-Strategic Operations/Cyber Operations decision-making.

• Lead and/or assist with the development of policy, direction, and guidance regarding the Army’s use AI in cyber operations and countering AI-based threat to the Army’s networks and systems.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum experience of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D. Will consider Associate degree +14 or HS +16 years of experience

• Experience in CO/CEMA at the HQDA or equivalent level and above

• Must be knowledgeable in HQDA processes and systems. Must have completed courses such as Command and General Staff College or comparable

• Have prior experience operating within a DoD Cyber Protection Team from any service

• Experience and knowledge of military documentation process, JCIDS requirements analysis, PPBE, and an in-depth understanding of the structure, functions, and specific key personnel across OSD, Joint Staff, HQDA, CCMDs, TRADOC, and the ASCCs including ARCYBER, CCoE and other TRADOC CoEs

• Possess excellent writing, editing, and briefing skills and experience with word, excel, and project management

• Able to work independently and effectively in a dynamic team environment

• Able to prioritize competing tasks and meet short-suspense deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• U.S. Citizenship is required

• Active TS clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI clearance

Preferred:

• TS SCI clearance

• 15+ years of US DoD experience

Target Salary Range $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
