Job Description
The Electrical Designer will support capital and maintenance projects for natural gas pipeline, terminal, and related midstream facilities by developing and maintaining detailed engineering and construction drawings. This role works closely with engineering and project teams to create high-quality design packages, perform field verification activities, and support projects from concept through construction. The ideal candidate has experience supporting pipeline, terminal, or industrial process facilities and possesses a strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems, P&IDs, and drafting/design best practices.
Skills and Requirements
Associate degree in Drafting & Design, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience. 5+ years of electrical and instrumentation (E&I) design experience Experience supporting natural gas pipelines, terminals, storage facilities, or similar midstream infrastructure. Proficiency with AutoCAD and related design software. Ability to read, interpret, and develop drawings from P&IDs. Experience supporting electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and field devices. Understanding of process piping, measurement equipment, and industry drafting standards. Experience with CADWorx or similar 3D plant design software. Experience producing construction drawings, as-built drawings, and engineering design packages. Ability to conduct field walkdowns and verify existing facility conditions. Experience working in natural gas transmission, gathering, storage, compression, or terminal environments. Knowledge of document management systems such as Meridian or similar platforms. Experience performing QA/QC reviews of engineering drawings and design packages. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix systems and industrial communication protocols.
