Job Description

The Sr. Regulatory Specialist partners closely with Quality, R&D, and cross-functional teams to ensure product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance for a wide range of bakery and food ingredient products. This role maintains and improves regulatory programs, supports audit readiness, and helps drive continuous improvement in food safety, quality systems, and cost reduction initiatives. The position offers the opportunity to work in a growing food ingredients company where employees wear multiple hats, collaborate closely with leadership, and gain broad exposure across Regulatory, Quality, R&D, and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier and ingredient approval programs to ensure all materials meet regulatory and customer requirements.

  • Review, maintain, and process supplier documentation through electronic document management systems.

  • Maintain customer regulatory documentation and compliance records to support ongoing business and audit needs.

  • Coordinate change control activities for product formulas, specifications, and labels to ensure compliant implementation.

  • Maintain regulatory programs and records to support audit preparedness and third-party certification requirements.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve regulatory processes, systems, and documentation workflows.

  • Support food safety, quality, and compliance initiatives across the organization in alignment with corporate standards.

  • Prepare regulatory documentation, reports, and analyses to support internal stakeholders and customer requests.

  • Provide regulatory support and guidance to R&D, Sales, and Operations teams throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Support compliance with customer requirements and third-party certification standards, including SQF and BRC.

Essential Skills

  • 13 years of experience in food, medical, or other similar regulated industries.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Experience preparing and maintaining regulatory, technical, and compliance documentation.

  • Bachelors degree in a science-related field preferred.

  • Knowledge of international regulations is a plus.

  • Experience in food manufacturing or other highly regulated environments is preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, first-shift position based 100% onsite at a food manufacturing facility. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility for a start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chaska, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
