What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete design of electrical/instrumentation assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This level is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex electrical/instrumentation assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Creates modifies and controls detailed two- and three-dimensional parts and assembly drawings from engineers' and technician s' sketches plans and written and verbal instructions

  • Makes adjustments to drawings according to feedback from engineers or architects

  • Directs the application of CAD software delivering the ability to conceptualize design with meticulous attention to detail

  • Contributes to the drafting of designs by using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create drawings and designs

  • Directs design compliance with company regulations and quality standards

  • Delivers drafts of an engineer' s or architect' s design by using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create drawings and designs

  • Ensures the accuracy of material and equipment specification s ensuring drafts a re up to building technique standards and collaborating with team members

  • Designs diagrams and layouts to illustrate the workflow of designs

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma/GED is required

Certification: Certification is not required at this level.

Experience: This position requires 5+ years of AutoCAD experience with developing P&IDs maps and design drawings with in petrochemical or refining industries

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in reading and understanding design documents such as P&IDs instrument loop drawings and schematics

  • Strong knowledge and u se of Design and Drafting practices

  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining all disciplines of drawings to support business units and projects

  • Proficient in AutoCAD/CADWorx

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point)

  • Experience utilizing electronic document management system
