Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Traveling CMT Technician to support a large engineering consulting firm based in the Bluffton, SC area. This individual must be open to full-time nationwide travel to construction project sites and will play a key role in ensuring quality, safety, and compliance throughout the construction process. Responsibilities include performing construction materials testing, field observations, and inspections of building materials and construction activities to verify compliance with applicable building codes, engineering plans, and project specifications. Technicians will document findings and test results, conduct basic data analysis, prepare detailed reports, and communicate project information, site conditions, and any deficiencies directly to Project Managers and other stakeholders. The role requires reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with contractors, engineers, and project teams to support successful project execution. Ideal candidates will have experience in construction materials testing, quality assurance/quality control, special inspections, or engineering field services and be comfortable working in various outdoor environments while traveling extensively across the United States.
Skills and Requirements
HSD/GED Minimum 2 years' experience in construction materials testing Active ICC certifications: Soils Reinforced concrete Masonry Structural steel - bolting/welding Fireproofing Clean background, MVR, able to pass drug screening Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel; Overall computer skills Willing to travel fulltime nationwide Bachelor's Degree in Engineering EIT
