We are excited to be opening a new unit!

Sheppard Pratt's inpatient units are nationally recognized programs for the treatment of individuals with a variety of mental health conditions. The new General Adult Unit provides specialized inpatient treatment for adults 18 and older. The program utilizes an intensive multi-disciplinary treatment approach through individual therapy, milieu therapy, and process-oriented, experiential, and psycho-educational group therapies.

As a Social Worker you:

  • Perform a full range of clinical social work services in support of the patient's primary therapist/treatment team.

  • Interview patients and families to assess psychosocial problems, develop treatment plans, and monitor and evaluate patient progress.

  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions for patients and their families in order to assist in resolving personal and environmental problems that prevent them from achieving their highest level of psychosocial functioning.

  • Participate as a member of the treatment team.

  • Develop and assist in the implementation of discharge and aftercare plans.

Requires:

  • Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.

  • Current Maryland State Social Work / Counseling license (LCSW-C, LMSW, LCPC, LGPC), at time of appointment and continuously while in position.

  • 2+ years of experience in a hospital or similar clinical setting.
