As we wrap up recruitment for the year, only limited volunteer openings remain. Please keep the following requirements in mind before submitting your application:

  • Required onboarding: You must be available to attend both volunteer onboarding and orientation sessions: Wednesday, October 21, from 5:30–7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, October 28, from 5:30–7:30 p.m.

  • Schedule flexibility: Many shifts are nearly full and may not be able to accommodate additional volunteers. We will do our best to find a placement that works for you; however, please come prepared with more than one available day and time. Job duties:

The Ronald McDonald Family Room at Primary Children's Hospital offers a place for patients' families to relax in a friendly, home-like atmosphere. Volunteers help staff the room's front desk and welcome families as they come in. They also help the team with cleaning, organizing, stocking, making beds, treats, crafts, etc.

The goal of the Ronald McDonald Family Room is to help alleviate stress and fatigue while families are in the hospital. Volunteers will interact with families as needed, document guest usage and stock supplies, and help answer questions. This position will mainly involve parents and siblings, with some patient visits.

Monday: 9:00-1:00pm and 5:00-9:00pm
