Experience Required

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and a valid Kentucky driver’s license with safe driving record are required. Minimum age of 23 years old. Some limited entry-level maintenance experience preferred. Basic “handyperson” aptitude, i.e., maintenance and repair. Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds. Basic MS Office skills with the ability to effectively navigate web-based applications and systems. Regular travel among KBC facilities and other external locations. Flexible schedule to include some evenings, weekends, and department on-call rotation. Proof of education/certifications required during the interview process. Pre-employment background check, drug screen and physical assessment are required.

Description: The Maintenance Assistant position provides support and assistance for General Services functions. This includes but is not limited to coordinating and/or performing minimal repairs and maintenance for KBC facilities, equipment, and vehicles. The position reports to the Facilities and Fleet Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

Assists with general facility and vehicle upkeep.

Ensures facility appearance and cleanliness by doing walk-thru inspections, collecting and removing garbage, and completing building improvement tasks (painting, minor carpentry, part replacement, etc.),

Assists and/or performs minimal equipment repairs, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, heating, and cooling maintenance throughout the building and grounds at all locations under the guidance of more senior team members.

Utilizes ticketing system and keeps accurate maintenance records.

Coordinates and/or performs professional vehicle cleaning and handles facility janitorial duties.

Monitors recycling and biohazardous waste containers and transfers and/or disposes of product as needed.

Interacts professionally with vendor representatives to escort individuals onsite and to support the completion of work performed by external parties.

Drives non-CDL vehicles to scheduled service appointments and fulfills a variety of errands for General Services departments.

Routinely travels to KBC locations to perform inspections and maintenance activities.

Fulfills other duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Work Environment: This position regularly involves the following:

Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.

Frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds without assistance (pre-employment physical assessment required).

Frequently bend or reach to perform various job tasks.

Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.

Safely ascend/descend a ladder.

Analyze complex situations and make sound decisions.

Reading, understanding, and applying Standard Operating Procedures.

Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.

Work outside in heat, cold, wet, humid, or dry conditions.

Frequently travels to fulfill essential job functions
