Boiler Test Fire Technician

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Boiler Test Fire Technician for a leading industrial equipment and specialty rental organization. This candidate will be responsible for preparing, setting up, and performing test fires on rental boilers and related equipment before deployment to customer sites. They will evaluate equipment performance, verify combustion efficiency, collect operational data, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial boiler systems, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a safety-first mindset. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional looking to work with critical industrial equipment supporting industries such as petrochemical, refining, manufacturing, utilities, and construction.

Skills and Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, rental equipment, mechanical maintenance, or boiler operations

• Strong mechanical aptitude with industrial systems experience

• Understanding of combustion principles and burner controls

• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fuel delivery, and control system issues

• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings

• High school diploma or GED

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, turnaround-driven environment Commitment to safety procedures and compliance standards

• Electrical experience

• Trade school or technical training in boilers, industrial maintenance, or HVAC

• Experience with burners, temporary boilers, or industrial combustion systems

• Specialty Rental industry experience (steam, air, power, or temperature control) Experience working with NFPA and ASME standards
