Vue.js Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Vue.js Developer to build and enhance modern, scalable, and user-centric web and mobile applications. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, backend developers, and product stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions using Vue.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js . You will be responsible for developing responsive front-end components, integrating APIs, and ensuring optimal application performance and reliability in an Agile development environment.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform web and mobile application components using Vue.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to transform wireframes and mockups into responsive, high-quality user interfaces.

• Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services into applications using Node.js.

• Develop clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards and best practices.

• Perform code reviews and contribute to continuous improvements in application architecture and code quality.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application performance issues, defects, and compatibility challenges across browsers and devices.

• Work closely with backend engineers to define, develop, and consume APIs and data services.

• Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Contribute to application optimization efforts, ensuring scalability, security, and a seamless end-user experience.

• Support testing, deployment, and production issue resolution activities as needed.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Louisville - KY. What you need to have to be considered

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with Vue.js .

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript .

• Experience with state management solutions such as Redux , Vuex , or Context API .

• Experience developing applications using Node.js .

• Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs and third-party SDKs/services.

• Strong understanding of responsive web design and modern front-end development principles.

• Experience working in Agile software development environments.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This will help you stand out

• Experience building enterprise-scale web or mobile applications.

• Knowledge of modern front-end architecture and performance optimization techniques.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development methodologies.

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles.

• Experience working with microservices-based architectures.

• Ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to technical best practices across teams.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $68,442 to $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
