Electrical Designer

Job Description

Overview: A client of ours is hiring an Electrical Designer for our Tampa, FL operation. The Electrical Designer manually and electronically designs and drafts detailed drawings, such as wiring diagrams and layout drawings for construction projects. Evaluates design work and supporting documents to verify conformance to industry codes and customer specific specifications and standards.

Day to Day:

• Drafts detailed drawings, such as wiring diagrams and layout drawings for construction projects.
• Evaluating design work and supporting documents to verify compliance to industry codes and customer specific specifications and standards.
• Some field work not on daily basis just when your given a project
• 60% office 40% field
• Work with supervisory team to design projects
• Utilize utility standards Meeting with customers for projects

Skills and Requirements

• 1-2 year of electrical engineering experience

• Education: An engineering degree (preferable Electrical Engineering)

• Prior experience in service area work (engineers in other fields)

• Comfortable talking with customers/ clients

• Knowledge of electrical distribution design principles in both overhead and underground applications

• AutoCAD

• Blue Beam GIS work experience

• GIS work experience for an Electric company's internal data systems

• Companies like Duke & Florida Line Company

• 1-2 year of distribution design experience
