Summary

ASP provides the AIT organization optimal business solutions in strategic alignment with Agency goals and objectives. The Service Area provides innovative, strategically relevant, and integrated business services that improve FAA IT performance, enabling our customers to focus on the execution of their mission.

Duties

The Policy and Administration Branch, ASP-110 coordinates and maintains enterprise-level policies, provides program management and compliance oversight for the FAA Directives, FAA Forms, FAA Paperwork Reduction Act, and FAA Section 508. This work is critical to ensure the FAA's technology systems are both accessible and compliant with federal standards. The branch also maintains the AIT Business Management System. This function establishes standardized procedures to ensure consistent, transparent, and high-quality service delivery within the AIT organization. Leverage expertise and advancements in technology to modernize organizational processes, proactively identify process gaps, employ synergies with internal/external programs, and implement corrective actions where necessary. Direct the work of subordinate employees in organization/project/program, which include planning, communicating the organization's vision and objectives, setting priorities, assigning tasks, monitoring and evaluating performance, coaching and developing employee capabilities, approving leave, and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action. Manage program resources by effectively allocating staff and funds to meet objectives, while directly contributing to the budget planning process to forecast short-, intermediate-, and long-term needs. Contacts are primarily within the organization, major subdivision and the LOB/SO with subordinates, peers, and higher-level managers to discuss the status of projects/programs and to plan for the future. Serve as a senior technical point of contact, communicating results and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels. May have frequent contact with customers, other government entities, and other external parties to interpret policies/procedures or for other project/program purposes. Provide technical expertise, policy guidance, and mentorship to less experienced staff. Work is typically governed by established policies, procedures, and organizational objectives that frequently leave room for discretion. Resolves all but unique problems without the intervention of higher-level management. Regularly called upon to identify problem areas, develop plans, techniques, and recommend new policies and procedures for resolution to address current and anticipated issues. Individual and organizational performance is reviewed periodically by higher-level management, usually through status reports and organizational performance measures. Has discretion to ensure the alignment of projects/programs with the tactical (short-term) and immediate objectives of the major subdivision. Work activities impact directly on project/program objectives for more than one organization unit and for the major subdivision. The work of this position also affects the major subdivision's internal and external customers. Requirements
