Job Title: Accounting ManagerJob Description

This Accounting Manager role leads a dedicated accounting team responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in alignment with IFRS standards and established accounting policies. The position oversees month-end close activities, financial statement preparation, internal controls, audit coordination, and staff development while partnering closely with business and operational leaders. The successful candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on leadership and a collaborative approach to process improvement and business support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management to support professional growth and career development.

  • Oversee staffing and resource planning, including hiring, onboarding, and workload management, to ensure the team completes all deliverables accurately and on time.

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and internal accounting policies.

  • Review and approve journal entries, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, inventory reconciliations, and supporting financial analyses to maintain high-quality financial data.

  • Prepare, review, and ensure the integrity of financial statements, balance sheets, and related reporting in compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.

  • Partner with operational and business leaders to maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with accounting policies and authorization guidelines, and support sound financial decision-making.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, resolving audit findings, and implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting, tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements, maintaining appropriate documentation and controls.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, enhance reporting quality, and strengthen financial controls.

  • Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned, contributing financial insight and analytical support to cross-functional efforts.

  • Utilize tools such as pivot tables and other reporting capabilities to analyze financial data, support management reporting, and provide meaningful insights to leadership.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.

  • 2+ years of experience leading or supervising accounting professionals.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.

  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation.

  • Hands-on experience managing month-end close, quarter-end close, and year-end close processes.

  • Proficiency in account reconciliations, inventory reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.

  • Experience with internal controls, including design, implementation, and ongoing monitoring.

  • Background in supporting internal and external audits and resolving audit findings.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and reporting tools, including the use of pivot tables.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing and office (cubicle) environment, offering a blend of exposure to operational activities and corporate accounting functions. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, typically 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. The position follows a hybrid work model, with four days in the office and one day remote each week, supporting both collaboration and focused individual work. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
