Full job description

About the job We are looking for a talented Software Engineer Intern (Teleoperation) to join our team in the Bay Area immediately. If you are passionate about robotics, have strong computer science fundamentals, and can start within 1–2 weeks, we want to hear from you. We are moving quickly and prepared to make fast hiring decisions for the right candidate.

About Feather Feather is a VC-backed startup assembling a world-class team to build general-purpose robots. While competitors pursue end-to-end integration, we are focused on creating the best labor platform on which others will build, monetize, and scale, fostering an ecosystem of solutions akin to Apple’s or Nvidia’s.

We’ve moved through the hardware lifecycle at lightspeed -- building our first prototype in two months, fulfilling our first order in nine months (vs. 31 months for Figure), and working with a $4B revenue manufacturer. Our units are deployed across several fields today, including cooking, retail, manufacturing, and more.

Key Qualifications

  • Must be based in the Bay Area (or able to relocate immediately)
  • Able to start within 1–2 weeks
  • Must have genuine excitement for robotics and cutting-edge automation
  • Must have a rock-solid foundation in computer science principles

Technical Skills Required

  • Strong, practical understanding of Inverse Kinematics (IK) and Forward Kinematics (FK)
  • Ability to write clean, highly performant code in Python
  • Deep understanding of multiprocessing and memory management to optimize real-time robotic systems
  • Proficiency debugging complex systems independently

Why Join Us

  • Be the architect of a novel humanoid platform instead of working on only one small fragment
  • Shape the future of robotics and physical AI in a talented, driven team that values ownership, speed, and creativity
  • Opportunity to convert to full-time available for top performers
