Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

This role owns the end-to-end spare parts lifecycle for 1-2 Leo Satellite Manufacturing buildings, ensuring maintenance technicians have the right parts, at the right time, to sustain equipment uptime. The Maintenance Planner / Parts Manager operates within the Tech Ops job family and serves as the primary point of contact for parts ordering, receiving, storeroom management, and inventory optimization in support of preventive and corrective maintenance execution.

Key job responsibilities

Own spare parts ordering, receiving, put-away, and issuance processes across 1-2 buildings

Manage storeroom organization, labeling, and 5S standards to ensure rapid part retrieval

Establish and maintain min/max inventory levels based on equipment criticality and consumption data

Enter and maintain parts data in APM/CMMS, including BOM accuracy, lead times, and vendor information

Coordinate with vendors on purchase orders, delivery schedules, returns, and warranty claims

Support work order planning by staging kits and confirming parts availability prior to scheduled maintenance

Conduct cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies; drive root cause on variances

Assist in the creation of process improvement plans for parts management workflows

Provide process improvement feedback to site leadership based on operating experience

Coordinate with maintenance technicians and leadership to forecast parts demand for planned outages and projects

Support implementation CMMS system integrations related to parts tracking

Train less-experienced team members on storeroom procedures and inventory management SOPs

Basic Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance planning, parts/inventory management, or supply chain in a manufacturing or critical infrastructure environment

  • 4+ years experience in a maintenance role

  • Experience using a CMMS or EAM system (e.g., APM, SAP PM, Maximo) for work order and inventory management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of data center engineering experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling

  • Experience in data center engineering

  • Experience with satellite, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with MRO procurement processes and vendor management

  • Demonstrated ability to define requirements and manage execution of small projects independently

  • Experience with inventory optimization techniques (ABC analysis, criticality-based stocking)

  • Basic competency with data tools (Excel, reporting dashboards) to analyze consumption trends

  • Ability to make software configuration changes or automate small tasks within inventory systems

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
