Assistant Professor of Special Education

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The School of Education at The City College of New York invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor position in Special Education to begin in the Fall of 2027. The position requires service to the department and college and academic advisement. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate with colleagues to seek external funding, to collaborate with local school districts, to teach courses in the Special Education program, and to participate in committee work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. or Ed.D. Special Education or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.

  • Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.

  • Commitment to urban education.

  • Experience teaching or working in an official capacity in public schools.

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $79,630 - $94,017
