Full job description

The Sr. Accountant, Group Reporting & Inventory is responsible for supporting monthly group reporting, inventory accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes for designated business units. This role serves as the primary point of contact for the JD Group reporting requirements for PAX and FCC, ensuring accurate and timely submissions. The Analyst will also partner closely with Inventory Control and Accounting teams to support month-end close activities, resolve accounting issues, and identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares and submits accurate and timely monthly group reporting packages to the Global JD Group for PAX and FCC, including supplemental reporting packages and forms required for hard closes.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the Global JD Group regarding PAX and FCC reporting submissions and responds to inquiries and follow-up requests.

  • Maintains and updates reporting mappings provided by JD Group, ensuring changes are accurately reflected across the applicable businesses.

  • Supports monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including additional reporting requirements associated with quarterly hard closes.

  • Performs monthly inventory reconciliations and investigates and resolves variances in a timely manner.

  • Prepares and records inventory-related journal entries during month-end close.

  • Partners closely with Inventory Control teams across each fascia to ensure inventory activity is accurately recorded and reconciled.

  • Ensures assigned accounting activities and reporting deliverables are complete, accurate, and in accordance with company accounting policies.

  • Collaborates with Accounting Directors, VPs, and other business partners to resolve accounting issues and support financial reporting requirements.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and operational efficiency, with a focus on process improvement during non-close periods.

  • Develops and maintains financial and operational reports using Workday and other applicable reporting tools.

  • Participates in financial data analysis and reporting initiatives using advanced Excel functionality and other available tools.

  • Works cross-functionally with Accounting and business partners and other Accounting leadership, to support business priorities and special projects.

  • Investigates and resolves accounting and reporting issues and provides timely support for urgent or unexpected business needs.

  • Supports the development and implementation of standardized processes and controls to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of accounting operations.

  • Protects the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and escalating potential risks or issues to appropriate management.

  • Participates in special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university; 4-6 years of experience in corporate or public accounting; or equivalent combination and experience. CPA Certification preferred but not required.

Required Computer and Technical Skills

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office equivalent programs especially Excel. Experience with Workday preferred.
