Full job description

The Kamin Tower at UPMC Presbyteria (https://www.upmc.com/locations/hospitals/presbyterian/about/tower/image-gallery) n (opening in January 2027) is shaping the future of hospital care - and the dedicated teams that support the environment are essential to that mission. A state-of-the-art building designed with safety, efficiency, and comfort of employees, patients, and visitors in mind, the tower offers a modern workplace where every employee can do their best work, every day. We are recruiting for full-time, part-time, daylight, evening, and night shift.

Standing at 17 stories and one million square feet, the tower includes thoughtfully designed rooftop gardens, flexible outdoor spaces, and 636 private patient rooms with the latest in patient care technology - and it takes a skilled Environmental Services team to keep everything operating smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, offices and equipment, following established procedures.

  • Remove trash from all assigned areas.

  • Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure adequate supply.

  • Make beds, following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.

  • Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc. as assigned.

  • Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair, report problems to the supervisor.

  • Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.

  • Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.

  • *Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

  • *Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.

  • Ability to use housekeeping equipment.

  • May in the course of duties be in rooms where medications are stored.

  • No contact with medications is allowed.
