Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Medical Staff Coordinator
As a Medical Staff Coordinator at MercyOne, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the medical staff services department. This position involves aiding with the credentialing and privileging process for all medical staff, advanced practice practitioners, and allied health professionals for multiple MercyOne hospitals, maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, and fostering positive relationships between the medical staff, hospital administration, and health system credentials verification organization.
General Requirments:

Coordinates medical staff services functionsfor an assigned group of MercyOne hospitalsand affiliated critical access hospitals.

Ensures credentialing and privileging compliance with all relevant regulations, including medical staff bylaws, Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS, and state and federal regulations.

Maintains the credentialing database withaccurateand current provider information.

Collects appropriateprivilegingdocumentation for the requested privileges.

Facilitates and documents any required education for the requested privileges, such as sedation testing.

Prepares files and routes them to theappropriate clinicalleaders for credentials review and approval.

Provides administrative support and guidance to medicalstaffleadership, committees, and departments.

Maintains a collaborative relationship with the health system credentials verification organization (CVO).

Maintains department confidentiality, limiting access to credentialing files, committee minutes, and related discussions to necessary parties.

Assistsin preparing the organization for accreditation and licensing surveys related to medical staff functions..
Education:
-
Minimum of1 yearin a medical staff services or credentialing role. High school diploma or GED equivalentrequired,Associate’sdegree preferred.

Certification:Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management(CPMSM)preferred.
