RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY:

  • Responsible to the Paul G. Stevens, MD, Outpatient Clinic Manager.

  • Actively supports and participates in direct patient care, case management, care coordination, health care education, quality improvement, community networking, and clinic operations.

  • Assists in the coordination and delivery of outpatient clinical services, including specialty treatment programs, infusion therapies, and chronic disease management.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Seeing, hearing, speaking, sitting, finger dexterity.

B. MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:

  • Infrequent: Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Occasional: Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.

  • Frequent: Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 pounds.

  • Constant: N/A

C. NON-MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING:

  • Infrequent: Climbing.

  • Occasional: Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching above shoulder level.

  • Frequent: Sitting.

  • Constant: Gripping.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Both inside and outside environmental conditions; noise and/or vibration; hazardous physical conditions; atmospheric conditions which affect the respiratory system of the skin.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.

B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

  • Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification. If not certified upon hire, certification must be obtained within six (6) months of entrance into the position.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Current ACLS certification. If not certified upon hire, certification must be obtained within six (6) months of entrance into the position.

C. EXPERIENCE:

  • Two (2) years nursing experience.

  • Case management, care coordination, ambulatory care, infusion therapy, or oncology experience preferred.

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

  • Ability to keep clear and concise records.

  • Experience in data collection and input.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, providers, staff, and community resources.
