Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.

Our Gardiner house, located just outside the village of New Paltz, is the home to six wonderful men! This spacious home, located only five miles from Main Street in the town of New Paltz, provides DSPs with an opportunity to work with unique, fun-loving gentlemen, who have a variety of passions including music, puzzles, movies, video games, and sports. The men also enjoy getting out of the house, and love to go bowling and attend church. If there is a holiday or birthday on the calendar, they will make sure the house is fully decorated to enjoy the celebration!

A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.
