IT Program Manager

Job Description

This IT Program/Project Manager will lead a complex, multi-year technology initiative focused on integrating new demand response systems and modernizing a legacy environment. The project involves moving away from a single-platform model toward an integrated ecosystem that can support multiple vendors and provide the business with a unified view for managing demand response resources. Day to day, this individual will coordinate across multiple technical workstreams, including API development, business warehouse/data, application development, and integration teams, while partnering closely with Business Analysts, technical resources, and business stakeholders. They will be responsible for understanding how the various systems and development efforts fit together, identifying dependencies and bottlenecks, managing timelines and commitments, and ensuring teams remain aligned on deliverables. The ideal candidate will bring a program-level mindset, ask the right technical and business questions, and be comfortable driving clarity across a highly integrated environment with multiple development teams and competing priorities.

Skills and Requirements

• 8+ years of IT Project Management experience, including demonstrated experience leading large, complex, multi-workstream technology projects

• Experience managing API-based development and systems integration projects

• Strong understanding of APIs, dependencies, integrations, and development lifecycles

• Experience coordinating multiple technical/development teams within the same program or initiative

• Strong ability to understand how separate systems and workstreams fit together and proactively identify dependencies, risks, and bottlenecks

• Experience working within an Agile delivery environment

• Experience with Microsoft Project for project planning, scheduling, and dependency management

• Experience working with data warehouse / business warehouse environments or teams

• Ability to partner effectively with technical teams to determine what is realistically achievable and establish appropriate delivery commitments

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and drive clarity Demonstrated experience managing projects involving both legacy technology and new system implementations

• Experience implementing or integrating demand response systems or customer energy programs

• Utility or energy industry experience

• Experience working with customer data and/or meter data

• Experience integrating multiple vendor platforms into a cohesive technology ecosystem Experience supporting long-term technology modernization or transformation programs
