About the role April is seeking an IT Specialist who will play a key role in supporting and maintaining the internal systems that keep our team productive and secure. In this role, you’ll manage day-to-day IT operation from user access and device management to troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. You’ll be a go-to resource for on-demand support, ensuring smooth onboarding experiences, accurate documentation, and clear communication across the organization. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to april’s technical foundation by supporting reliable, well-documented, and user-friendly IT systems. Team members residing within the New York City metropolitan area must maintain a minimum on-site presence of three days per week. This is a temporary, full-time role running from December 2026 to May 2027 with potential to convert to FTE. Provide help desk support for US-based employees

Own onboarding and offboarding for US-based employees, including equipment procurement, desk setup, and user provisioning

Administer user access and devices across our identity provider, SSO, and MDM platform in a macOS environment

Assist with security operations, including first-line EDR alert triage and evidence collection for SOC 1/2 compliance

Maintain clear documentation for systems and processes
Experience
-
2+ years of experience in IT roles
-
• Hands-on experience administering macOS devices through an MDM platform
-
Experience with identity providers and SSO (e.g., Google Workspace, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or similar)

Experience setting up and supporting video conferencing and meeting-room systems
-
Ability to work independently across time zones and prioritize effectively

CompTIA A+ or Network+, or Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)

Scripting experience in Bash or Python for automating routine tasks

Experience with EDR platforms or compliance automation tools

Practical networking experience configuring and troubleshooting switches, access points, and firewalls, with working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
