Prenatal Instructor

Employment Type: Part timeShift: Rotating Shift Description: Position Summary Plans, coordinates and presents one or more of the following: Prenatal, Lamaze or other Childbirth Education related programs for pregnant customers/families and outside groups. Works with others in presenting programs to meet requirement of regulatory agencies. Principal Accountabilities and Essential Functions of the Job Major Areas of Responsibility/Essential Function % of Time

1. Provides educational instruction in collaboration with the Patient Care Manager.

• Demonstrates expert knowledge of established program curriculum according to standards.
• Prepares class materials and teaching/learning aids as needed.
• Ensures sufficient quantity of materials and supplies for each class.
• Delivers/presents educational experiences within areas of expertise using appropriate technology, strategies and resources that engage learners and either directly or indirectly develop competence.
• Maintains content integrity to be in accordance with established guidelines of structured class.
• Modifies educational plan or delivery based on changing environment, technology or participant abilities.
• Provides feedback to Patient Care Manager on learner participation and effectiveness of methods and materials used for each educational offering.
• Reports concerns as appropriate. 90

1. Maintains accurate records.

• Compiles records of attendance, competency assessment and continuing education programs and delivers to Patient Care Manager.
• Collects fees. 10

1. Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.

• Attends required safety programs.
• Appropriately and consistently uses the personal protective equipment required of the job.
• Knows and can demonstrate departmental emergency procedures for fire, disaster and other emergency situations.
• Reports and removes unsafe equipment/furniture.
• Asks for assistance when needed to assure safety for all involved.
• Maintains a safe working environment and practices safe working habits

Education and Experience: Basic Skill Set 0 – 2 years - Previous teaching experience preferred.
