Senior Product Engineer for Electronics Products

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Product Engineer for electronic components and films, you will work on products that enable the best performance in smart products and systems. We use 3M technology to control thermal energy, electrical signals, electrical interference, and mechanical vibration.
Here, you will make an impact by:
- Managing design change management projects (CMPs) for existing commercialized products to maximize customer satisfaction and promote business success of display and electronics portfolio
- Building in-depth technical knowledge of products in order to create and assess recommendations for improvements
- Leading, executing, and supporting projects that positively impact quality, performance, service, and cost through Product & Process Understanding (PPU) efforts
- Collaborating with cross-functional global teams composed of members from manufacturing, regulatory, application engineering, business, clinical, and multiple other functions
- Collaborating with plant personnel and suppliers on projects to address non-conformances, maintain continuity, and improve efficiency
- Writing Product Standards and setting product specifications for raw materials, in process, and final product testing
- Integrating new products into sustained operations by completing assigned tasks as member of New Project Introduction (NPI) teams
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Three (3) years of experience in a technical role developing and/or sustaining products in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline
- Product and/or manufacturing experience in injection molding, films, lamination, or converting
- Experience developing, sustaining, and/or maintaining commercialized products in a private, public, government or military environment
- History of effective execution of change management, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
- Demonstrated use of project management techniques to lead cross functional teams in projects that drive improvement and results
- Experience collaborating with laboratory, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing functions
- Statistical knowledge and practice [e.g., Design of Experiments (DOE), Manufacturing Sampling Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean Six Sigma, etc.]
- Relevant software experience and skills: Statistics and Data Analysis (Excel, MiniTab, or similar); Business Process and Lifecycle Management (SAP, PLM Enovia, or similar); Product Design (Solidworks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Strong communication skills (written, oral, and presentation)
Work location:
- This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Maplewood, MN or Austin, TX.

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
