Full job description

Purpose:

Collects and processes blood and other laboratory samples; enters physician orders in Meditech accurately; accurately labels and processes specimens; maintains confidentiality for patient data; and displays a professional image and attitude when performing ALL duties/responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Collects and processes laboratory specimens.

  • Performs Patient Assessment.

  • Maintains and practices professionalism.

  • Assist in training new or current employees & students as requested under the direction of supervisor/administrative staff.

  • Informs section supervisor of problems noted in an individual's training process.

  • *Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

  • *Performs other duties as assigned.

  • High school graduate with sufficient knowledge of English, Spelling, Typing, and Math. Certification in Phlebotomy preferred.

  • Some phlebotomy experience preferred.

  • Completion of Phlebotomy training through an accredited program.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Collects and processes laboratory specimens. Performs Patient Assessment. Maintains and practices professionalism. Assist in training new or current employees & students as requested under the direction of supervisor/administrative staff.
