Position Summary
The Senior Business Assistant provides advanced administrative, payroll, HR, and business operations support for the Abilene plant. This role supports day-to-day HR and office operations with a strong focus on payroll accuracy, employee data management, business process support, recruiting coordination, office administration, and employee service. The position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, independent judgment, and the ability to support multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Compensation Support

Support accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining confidentiality of employee pay and personal information
-
Enter, verify, and maintain payroll-related data, including absences, corrections, pay adjustments, reimbursements, deductions, overpayments, and other payroll changes
-
Assist with calculating and verifying payroll items such as salary, overtime, shift payments, bonuses, deductions, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related entries
-
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee pay questions, and supervisor inquiries in a timely and professional manner

Maintain payroll-specific records related to new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, wage changes, benefit deductions, and other employment updates
HRIS, Employee Data & Records Management
-
Enter and maintain accurate employee data in Workday and other business systems, including new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, schedule changes, compensation updates, and status changes

Maintain accurate and organized employee records in accordance with company procedures and confidentiality requirements

Generate, review, and distribute routine HR, payroll, attendance, and business reports as needed
-
Monitor data entry records, system screens, and source documents for errors, inconsistencies, or missing information
Time, Attendance & Leave Support

Monitor and track employee attendance, absences, and point accruals in accordance with company policy
-
Maintain records related to vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence, and other attendance-related items
-
Escalate attendance concerns, trends, or data discrepancies to HR or leadership as appropriate
-
Respond to general employee and supervisor questions related to attendance, leave balances, and timekeeping processes
Recruiting & Onboarding Support
-
Support recruiting activities, including candidate outreach, screening coordination, interview scheduling, and communication with candidates and hiring managers

Assist with pre-employment requirements, assessments, background process coordination, and onboarding documentation

Support new hire orientation and onboarding activities to help ensure a positive and organized new hire experience

Maintain accurate recruiting and onboarding records within Workday or other applicable systems
Business & Office Operations Support

Provide senior-level administrative support for plant business operations, HR processes, and office activities
-
Coordinate logistics for office events, employee engagement activities, meetings, training sessions, and other plant or HR-related events
-
Support office moves, file organization, supply coordination, document preparation, and other administrative projects as needed
-
Provide support for front desk, reception, phone coverage, visitor greeting, mailroom, and general office operations
-
Prepare documents, spreadsheets, reports, communications, and presentations to support HR and business needs
Employee Support & Communication
-
Serve as a professional point of contact for general HR, payroll, attendance, and office-related questions
-
Communicate information clearly to employees, supervisors, and stakeholders, including situations that may require explanation or interpretation
-
Provide timely, courteous, and confidential support to employees and leaders
-
Take initiative to resolve non-routine administrative, payroll, or employee service issues, escalating when appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
-
Minimum of 2–4 years of related experience in HR, payroll, office administration, business support, or a similar administrative function preferred
-
Experience with payroll processing, employee data entry, attendance tracking, or HR administrative support preferred
-
Familiarity with Workday, Dayforce, or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred
-
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee and business information with discretion
-
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint preferred
-
Ability to support employees, leaders, and cross-functional partners in a professional and collaborative manner
-
Bilingual skills preferred
