Salary Range: $18.06 To $19.09 Hourly

Property Assistant

Unity House is seeking a respite/ per diem Property Assistant to support our Property Department with compliance and administrative functions. This flexible position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.

Hours: 8-10 hours per week (flexible schedule) Great opportunity for someone seeking part-time work

Responsibilities

  • Review tenant and property files to ensure compliance with New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) standards and requirements.

  • Conduct file audits and identify missing or incomplete documentation.

  • Process and monitor tenant background checks through HCR systems and procedures.

  • Assist with maintaining accurate and organized housing records.

  • Support property management staff with administrative tasks related to compliance and occupancy requirements.

  • Ensure confidential information is handled appropriately and securely.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Valid and clean NYS driver license

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidential records and information.

  • Experience with affordable housing, property management, compliance reviews, or administrative support preferred.

  • Familiarity with HCR regulations and processes is a plus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems.
