Two positions available. Middle School 5/6 and Middle School 7/8

Health insurance is available with an employee contribution.

SALARY:

  • Certified Teacher: $175 per day

  • Certified Retired Teacher: $225.00 per day

  • Non-Certified Teacher (4 Year Degree): $135.00 per day

  • Non-Certified Teacher (2 Year Degree): $125.00 per day

REQUIREMENTS: NYS Certification Preferred

DESCRIPTION:

  • Reports daily to fill any vacancy determined by Building Principal

  • Ten (10) paid benefit days (will be prorated if applicable)

  • Pay spread equally through the year

SUMMARY: The Building Substitute Teacher possesses and displays the experience, ability, personality, energy and maturity to meet the everyday demands of students, curriculum, department, school and district. The Building Substitute Teacher is responsible for delivering an educational program for individual and/or groups of students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned. Must be flexible to go where needed.

  • Teacher demonstrates appropriate preparation employing the necessary instructional practices, materials, and activities.

  • Utilizes available resources and data to drive instruction.

  • Demonstrates classroom management skills supportive of diverse student learning needs, which create an environment conducive to student learning.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of student development, an understanding and appreciation of diversity and the regular application of developmentally appropriate instructional strategies for the benefit of all students.

  • Provides supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom in accordance with building and district expectations.

  • Reports to school on time.

  • Maintains confidentiality.

  • Actively abides by the CCSD Code of Conduct.

  • Attends required meetings and follows building rules, procedures and district policies.

  • Maintains positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with students, staff, caregivers, colleagues, district personnel and community.

  • Uses excellent written and oral English skills when communicating with students, staff, caregivers and community.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises classroom and students.

OTHER: Performs related duties as required or assigned.
