Full job description

Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for certain personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) handles the day-to-day operations of Army installations.

Duties

  • Serves as the senior Supervisory Police Officer (Patrol Branch Chief) with the Directorate of Operations at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
  • Responsible for the operational status of all police officers and civilian employees assigned to the following branches; Police Desk, Police Records, Supply and Logistics, Information Technology, and Emergency Communications activities.
  • Performs duties as a supervisory federal police officer performing law enforcement duties in an area of exclusive federal jurisdiction.
  • Ensures that assigned personnel properly execute law enforcement duties for the installation.
  • Performs law enforcement duties in an area of exclusive federal jurisdiction.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance, and enforcement of a full range of Federal, State, local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations as they pertain to law enforcement work, and the supervision of others engaged in such duties.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) Leading or supervising employees in the area of law enforcement; (2) Coordinating developmental and training needs of employees; and (3) Enforcing laws, regulations, policies, standards or procedures in law enforcement. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
