WHAT WE NEED

The Data Steward is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and appropriate use of data within assigned business domains. This role acts as the primary point of accountability for data definitions, business rules, and data quality within their domain, working closely with business stakeholders, data governance, and platform teams. The role bridges business knowledge and data governance, ensuring enterprise data is well-defined, trusted, and fit for operational and analytical use.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Serving as the primary steward for one or more business data domains (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, finance).

  • Defining and maintaining business data definitions, data standards, and reference data in alignment with enterprise governance policies.

  • Monitoring, reviewing, and addressing data quality issues within the assigned domain, including root cause analysis and remediation coordination.

  • Partnering with business users to understand data usage, requirements, and pain points.

  • Working with data platform and engineering teams to ensure business rules and definitions are correctly implemented in data models and pipelines.

  • Participating in data governance forums and contributing to the evolution of enterprise data standards and practices.

  • Supporting change initiatives by reviewing the data impact of new systems, processes, or enhancements.

  • Promoting awareness of proper data usage, definitions, and ownership within the business domain.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a business function, data, analytics, or systems role with direct exposure to enterprise data.

  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting data discrepancies across source systems, data pipelines or reporting layers.

  • Experience participating in data quality, data governance, or master/reference data initiatives.

  • Experience collaborating with technical teams to translate business definitions and rules into data requirements.

Preferential consideration will be given to candidates with the following experience:

  • Experience serving as a data steward, data owner proxy, or subject matter expert for a business data domain.

  • Familiarity with ERP, MES, or enterprise operational systems.

  • Experience working with BI and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI) from a data validation or usage perspective.

  • Exposure to data governance tools for metadata management, data quality tracking, or lineage visualization.

  • Experience in manufacturing environments.

  • Participation in enterprise data standardization or master data management initiatives.
