Full job description

Sanitation Technician

Location: Bartlett, Illinois

Pay: $18.00/hour

Shift: 3rd shift, 9:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.

Schedule: Monday–Saturday

Mandatory overtime required

Join our team as a Sanitation Technician and help maintain a safe, clean, and compliant food production facility. You’ll clean and sanitize equipment, floors, walls, and work areas while following strict USDA, FDA, customer, and company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize assigned areas and production equipment.

  • Dismantle and reassemble machinery for thorough cleaning.

  • Safely handle chemicals and operate sanitation equipment.

  • Inspect equipment and work areas before pre-operational inspections.

  • Follow safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, PPE, and HAZCOM.

  • Complete tasks efficiently and communicate with supervisors and team members.

  • Assist with additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Reliable, dependable, and committed to safety and teamwork.

  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Availability for overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime.

  • No previous sanitation experience required—hands-on training provided.

  • Food processing, industrial cleaning, sanitation, or bilingual English/Spanish experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds. Employees may work in wet, humid, hot, cold, and freezing environments and must wear required PPE, including steel-toed boots, goggles, face shields, respirators, and chemical-resistant clothing. Exposure to loud noise and cleaning chemicals may occur.
