Job Title: Facilities Technician

Location: Azusa, CA

Pay: up to $35 Based on Experience

Job Description

The Facilities Technician maintains and repairs a hospital facility, ensuring that building systems, interiors, and mechanical components operate safely and reliably. This role performs a wide range of general repairs, including building maintenance, painting, plumbing, patching, drywall work, electrical tasks, and HVAC system upkeep.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building repairs to maintain a safe, functional, and presentable hospital facility.

  • Complete painting projects, including surface preparation, priming, and finishing, in patient care areas, offices, and common spaces.

  • Carry out plumbing repairs and maintenance, such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and ensuring proper operation of water and drainage systems.

  • Patch and repair walls, including drywall installation and finishing, to maintain clean and damage-free surfaces.

  • Assist with electrical work within scope of role, including basic troubleshooting and repair of lighting, outlets, and other electrical fixtures.

  • Support HVAC system upkeep, including HVAC filter replacement and routine checks to ensure proper temperature control and air quality.

  • Perform facilities maintenance tasks across mechanical systems to support reliable operation of building equipment.

  • Troubleshoot maintenance issues promptly, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment to reduce downtime and extend asset life.

  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and document work performed according to facility procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience with building repairs and general building maintenance.

  • Proficiency in painting, including preparation, application, and finishing techniques.

  • Practical plumbing skills for repair and maintenance of facility plumbing systems.

  • Ability to perform patching and drywall installation and repair.

  • Basic electrical repair and troubleshooting skills applicable to facility maintenance.

  • Experience with HVAC systems, including HVAC filter replacement and routine upkeep.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a variety of building systems and equipment.

  • Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

  • Capability to perform preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in facilities maintenance within healthcare or similar complex environments.

  • Comfort working across multiple trades, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple maintenance requests simultaneously.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Covina, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
