Job Duties

Job Summary:

The Strategic Finance Manager will serve as a key leader within the Strategic Finance function, delivering high-impact financial analysis, strategic recommendations, and cross-functional partnerships with the ability to independently frame business questions, influence stakeholders, and strengthen the analytical capabilities of the broader finance team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead high-priority strategic finance analyses that support long-range planning, investment evaluation, business performance management, and senior leadership decisions.

  • Build, audit, and explain complex financial models, including scenario analysis, valuation, investment cases, sensitivity tables, and related decision-support tools.

  • Translate financial and operational data into clear insights, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations for senior leaders, finance committees, board-level audiences, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate growth opportunities, profitability drivers, capital projects, pricing decisions, partnerships, and strategic investments.

  • Own or support consolidated strategic and financial planning processes, including budgets, forecasts, long-range plans, variance analysis, and KPI reporting.

  • Analyze operating metrics, financial performance, and business trends to identify opportunities, risks, and areas for improved profitability or efficiency.

  • Manage multiple high-priority initiatives by creating workplans, driving accountability, and delivering high-quality work under tight timelines.

  • Lead ad hoc strategic and operational projects independently and in partnership with business leaders.

  • Coach analysts and junior finance team members by reviewing work product, raising analytical standards, and helping others develop stronger technical and business judgment.

  • Improve reporting, automate recurring analysis, strengthen controls, and help scale finance processes as the organization grows.

  • Model Midco's mission, vision, values, ethos, and Leadership Success Drivers, and inspire others to do the same.

  • Ensure customer privacy by adhering to Midco's privacy guidelines while actively following Midco policies and procedures.

  • Maintain reliable and predictable attendance as required by the position.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, public accounting, or a similarly analytical finance environment.

  • Demonstrated progression within prior roles, including promotion or expanding scope of responsibility within the same organization where applicable.

  • Advanced financial modeling capability, with the ability to build models that are accurate, flexible, logically structured, easy to audit, and suitable for leadership use.

  • Strong data fluency, including experience working with large data sets, identifying trends, reconciling discrepancies, and converting raw information into actionable insight.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly and concisely to senior leaders.

  • Strategic curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to understand the "why" behind the numbers.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, challenging assumptions, pressure-testing conclusions, and moving from analysis to recommendation with appropriate rigor.

  • Executive presence demonstrated through preparation, confidence, clarity, and balanced recommendations.

  • Team-first mindset with a focus on elevating the broader finance team, sharing knowledge, and creating leverage for finance leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or reviewing the work of analysts or junior team members preferred.

The hiring range for this position is $120,000-$145,000. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and/or individual performance.

Work Environment:

  • The position is based in a professional office environment with minimal noise distractions.

  • Employee may be required to travel occasionally for meetings.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, typing, and using standard office equipment.

Mental Demands:

  • Requires sustained attention to detail, critical thinking, prioritization, and sound judgment when working with complex information, evolving priorities, and time-sensitive decisions.
