Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional and detail-oriented eDiscovery Analyst / Litigation Paralegal to support an active legal matter involving international ocean freight charges. This individual will work under the direction of legal counsel to review several years of historical emails and supporting documents, identify relevant information, and organize findings for litigation.
- Review large volumes of historical emails, contracts, invoices, and supporting records.
- Conduct targeted searches based on attorney direction, key terms, dates, individuals, shipments, and transactions.
- Identify, categorize, and organize documents relevant to the litigation.
- Compare emails and records against sample documents and known case facts.
- Help build clear timelines connecting communications, container activity, charges, and decisions.
- Track findings accurately and escalate potentially significant documents to the legal team.
- Use Thunderbird and other available tools to search, review, and organize email records.
- Handle confidential and legally sensitive information with discretion.
Skills and Requirements
- 1 to 5 years of experience in eDiscovery, litigation support, paralegal work, legal operations, document review, investigations, or a similar field.
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred. Strong candidates with approximately three years of professional experience after college will be considered.
- Experience reviewing and organizing high volumes of emails or electronic documents.
- Strong written communication, judgment, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow detailed legal direction, document work consistently, and meet court-driven deadlines.
- Professional presence and comfort working with attorneys and business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Thunderbird, Outlook archives, or eDiscovery and document-review platforms.
- Exposure to international shipping, ocean freight, maritime transportation, logistics, or supply chain matters.
- Familiarity with ocean freight contracts, carrier invoices, detention and demurrage charges, bills of lading, container activity, or related shipping terminology.
