Shift Details: Part-time - 30 hours per week

Schedule: 8:00am-2:00pm, being on-call is a MUST

Compensation: $21.00 per hour

Location: High Pointe I & II - Rochester, MN

About the job:

The Caretaker will provide light maintenance and/or janitorial duties for the program's units, building, equipment, and grounds, and to maintain department standards by keeping the program facilities clean, safe, and in proper working order.

Essentials:

  • Perform some or all (but not limited to) of the following cleaning functions following established schedules and procedures and using established recording mechanisms to meet program standards.

  • Housekeeping:

  • Restroom cleaning

  • Cleaning all common areas (i.e. lounges, game rooms, reception areas, etc.)

  • Wash windows and glass as prescribed by the program

  • Clean management office

  • Trash/Recycling/Soiled Linen/Equipment, etc. removal

  • Dust/Damp Mop floors

  • Vacuum/Spot removal

  • Major projects - floor waxing, carpet, furniture extracting, etc.

  • Participate in the inspection of common areas for hazardous or unsafe conditions, physical damage, or any other form of deterioration and report conditions to the supervisor/lead.

  • Facility Maintenance:

  • Change lightbulbs

  • Service door locks

  • Spackle and repair damaged walls/ceilings

  • Replace broken windows - caulk window and door leaks, patch screens

  • Change the temperature on the heating system

  • Repair wardrobe closets and drawers

  • Unclog sinks and toilets

  • Repair furniture, floor, and ceiling tiles

  • Grounds Maintenance:

  • Spring and fall yard clean up

  • Weed gardens on an ongoing basis

  • Plant flowers in designated areas

  • Water lawns and flower beds as needed - repair garden sprinkler heads

  • May oversee and/or assist with snow removal activities

  • Assures program participant privacy is maintained by being knowledgeable and following HIPAA privacy and security regulations.

  • Must be able to work regularly scheduled working hours - possible overtime.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma; GED

  • Cleaning experience required. Must work well with all people in the community, treating all residents and co-workers with respect and dignity.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Computer proficient, ability to complete daily tasks under facilities in RealPage.

  • Ability to participate in Fair Housing Training and any other required classes, yearly.
