Job Description
One of our customers is seeking a Weapons Systems Engineer. Approximately 50% of this role involves technical analysis, engineering assessments, documentation reviews, and providing recommendations to government stakeholders. Another 25% involves technical meetings, design reviews, risk reviews, contractor coordination, and supporting program leadership. The remaining 25% includes travel to test sites, ranges, contractor facilities, and integration events supporting weapons testing, certification activities, and operational evaluations. This individual will review technical products, evaluate integration risks, support test planning and execution, and provide technical guidance throughout the weapon system lifecycle.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related)
- 6+ years Systems engineering experience supporting DoD or Air Force weapons, munitions, stores, or weapons integration programs
- Experience reviewing contractor technical data, designs, and test artifacts
- Familiarity with weapons testing, certification, or operational employment
- Active Secret Clearance
- Air Force SPO experience
- Weapons safety experience
- NNMSB, WSESRB, or similar weapons safety board involvement
- Developmental or Operational Test experience
- Weapons certification or airworthiness experience
- Active Top Secret Clearance
- Experience supporting major defense primes
- SCI/SAP exposure
