Full job description

Description

Arcosa Aggregates is seeking an Equipment Technician to support maintenance operations in our Conroe, Texas plant located. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant systems by performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs. The Equipment Technician works with a team to support production and maintain compliance with MSHA safety standards.

Day to Day

  • Promote safety awareness and follow all company and MSHA safety regulations

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment, including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, and dozers

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as fluid checks, filter changes, lubrication, and inspections

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues

  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and document findings

  • Maintain and repair plant equipment as needed

  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs

  • Communicate effectively with operators and supervisors regarding equipment status

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in both shop and field environments

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas

  • Perform other duties as assigned

About You

  • Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance

  • Positive, team-based attitude

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Experience with heavy equipment or diesel mechanics preferred

  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

  • Ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical work

  • Ability to climb ladders and equipment as required

  • Willingness to follow safety procedures and learn

  • 2-4 years of related work experience

Working Conditions

Work is performed in both shop and outdoor mining environments. The role involves exposure to heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty conditions, and requires working around heavy equipment and performing physically demanding tasks.
